The Three Laws Of Forces

1. An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

2.Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object).

3. For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action.

Aim: To make a helicopter and look at the force of gravity.

Hypothesis: The size of the wings will effect the speed that the helicopter travels.

Equipment:
  1. Stopwatch - use the Google stopwatch on your chromebook
  2. Helicopter template / paper
  3. Drawing pin
Method:

Image result for paper helicopter template

  1. Make the helicopter by cutting out the template.
  2. Drop the helicopter from a height. Use the same person.
  3. Time each drop and record the time when it hits the floor.
  4. Each time it is dropped you will make a change to its form.
  • With a paperclip on the bottom.
  • Use heavier material ( Cardboard)
  • Cut the body in half to give it a short body.
  • Cut the wings to give it short wings
  1. Time each time you drop it.
  2. Record the findings on a chart

TypeTime
Paperclip
Cardboard
Short wings
short body

Findings: What do the findings from your four flights say? Write about them.

Summary: What was the best result? ( The longest time will be the best. )

Paper:1.43
Cardboard:1.23

what I thought would happen:
the paper will spin slower and to slower it spins the slower it goes down.
the cardboard will spin faster and its rotor is angled makes it go down fatser

Paper planes

Thrust
Lift
Gravity
Drag

  • Need to increase the thrust - to do this, i will throw harder.
  • Reduced drag
  • Change air flow - add ailerons
  1. Write up the experiment using the Scientific method
  2. Record your findings on the chart
  3. Take a photo of all your planes and upload them onto your blog
  4. Graph the results in a bar graph.

the case of the barefoot bulgar

The case of the Barefoot Burglar

http://www.cyberbee.com/whodunnit/crimescene.html

In groups of 4 or five you are going to need to use your forensic knowledge to solve a crime.
Using the clues found at the crime scene, determine which of the four suspects is the "barefooted burglar"?
What do you think was the motive for this crime?
Write the results of your findings and convince a jury of your peers.

At approximately 7:15 a.m., Friday morning, Mrs. King, the science teacher, thought something was fishy as she walked down the hall and noticed that her door was open. She walked into her classroom and immediately discovered that the small aquarium had been broken and her prized gold fish were gasping in the sink. Beside the broken aquarium were the shattered remains of the pink piggy bank that had been on the shelf above the aquarium. A can of blue paint was spilled on the floor. Footprints of a barefooted burglar led to an open window. Bits of a white powdery substance were found next to the broken, empty, piggy bank. The only other item found was a half-eaten large chunk of chocolate candy.

When the police arrived they immediately began to gather forensic evidence.Sticky fingerprints were lifted from the aquarium and piggy bank. The painted footprints were measured. The chunk of chocolate candy was collected for examination. It appeared there were teeth imprints.

The white powdery substance by the piggy bank was carefully placed in a plastic bag and taken to the forensic chemist for identification .

Unknown suspects info:
height 175
closest is dan the man
ate chocolate and left large teeth marks
dan the man for having beaver like teeth.

Science Experiments Headings

Science Experiments Headings

This is a list of seven headings that are used in scientific experiments.

Aim- allows people who read it to understand what the experiment is about.

Hypothesis- an educated guess of what you think will happen.

Equipment- the materials required for the experiment.

Method- step by Step instructions detailing exactly how it will be carried out.

Results- the data found from the investigation.

Discussion- this is where you would discuss your findings.

Conclusion- interpret the results. It is here you would outline whether or not you met the hypothesis.

Lighting your hands

Aim- to listen to the teachers instructions while using safe practice in the science lab.

Hypothesis- there will be flames from your hand.

 Equipment:
1.Bunsen burner tube
2.Gas
3.Water
4.Detergent

Method-
1.Put some water into a container and squirt some detergent
2.Connect the gas hose to the taps and make gas bubbles in the water
1.Rub cold water on your hands and wrists and up to your elbows
4.Scoop up bubbles in the container into the palm of your cupped hand
5.Stand with your hands reaching out in front of you with your palms and bubbles facing up
6.light your hands
7. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!!

Safety- if you want to stop the fire you can open your palms and drop the fire to the floor.

Results-fire on your hands.

Discussion-i think it did what I was expecting but it burns.

Conclusion-every time a bubble pops gas falls down.

TOP TEAM MADNESS!!!

Today was Top Team!
today was very exciting! and we did a lot activities and crazy fun!

The first activity was conveyor belt it was crazy and my hands were very very tired
being at the front was harder than it seems, imagine that your hair was getting grinned at the road in high speed painful my friend very painful(it feels like my head is being skinned).
Then we went to the wet fun stuff I don't know what this game is called but somewhere plug the holes and I did not get wet. the next one I don't know the name but we place a bucket filled with water and we win! We had twice more than the competing enemy we had against.
Then the team building we won again! we had ours to reach taller than me and I am the tallest person in the group and it was about 2 meters tall the others have about 1.7 meters.
Then gutter ball and guess what. we won! How nice we got 3 in a row

this is the game where i place water on the bucket and balance

Invincibility Potion

We are learning to do persuasive writing and this is my work comment down what you think I got wrong.

What am I arguing to write and why?
Is it okay to give everyone the invincibility potion or not.

DUDE NO!
1.
(PEE)
Life risking side-effects
Reason…
What if these side effects are life risking?
These side effects could lend to mental body issues and almost impossible to cure.
If a potion/drug is just newly made and not tested no one knows what could happen?
Such potion/drug is very dangerous just from having a random effect.

GAMBLING YOUR LIFE FOR INVINCIBILITY?
2. (PEE)
World revolutionary
Reason…
What would happen if everyone uses this drug even if it has no side effects or what so ever.
Most of the time most people uses this for crime and harmful reasons.
These actions can cause a lot of damage all around the world also they
Could use this for terrorist attacks unnoticed

I DON'T WANT TO GET INVOLVED IN THAT.
3.
(PEE)
Accidents
Reason…
Let's say you’re walking in the streets and no one can see you what would happen?
What about you’re in the kitchen and you can't see your hand and chopped your whole arm off. Yeah not so surprising.

WHAT'S WRONG CAN'T SEE YOURSELF?
Ending
(No new information)
I’m quite scared giving this drug to others now.

Galaxy in a ball

Galaxy in a ball.

Here i was making a snow flake but i think i didn't actually made one.
I created a galaxy in a ball!
I did not use any effort on making these I just clicked randomly. If you wanted to try and make your own here's the link. Snowflake Maker

Here are 2 photos of it.
